New Year's Eve: Happy 2016!
New Year's Eve was a great way to start this new year with. We're already almost 2 weeks in and we're still talking about and longing back to NYE. My night started off at Mitchell's place, where his roommates let me decorate the house and buy them snacks. I had great fun getting everything ready for the night! By midnight we all went outside to see the fireworks. The fireworks we saw across the Waal were especially beautiful. By one o'clock, Mitchell and I said bye to his friends to meet my friends at Doornroosje, where a Planet Rose New Year's party took place. It was an amazing night and I was glad that I got to spend my New Year's Eve with a few of my good friends.
When I was a lot younger, I didn't even like NYE. I never got the heck of it (and secretly I still don't) - to me, nothing will change when a new year has started... first day of school after summer break feels more like a new year to me. although this year, because a brand new semester would start right after Christmas break, it kind of felt as an actual new beginning to me. So, as you might have guessed, no New Year's solutions for me! This is not exactly what I was going to tell... what I was going to say was, when I was younger New Year's Eve was nothing special to me, but ever since I'm older, I have started to appreciate NYE for often one of the best parties of the year. It also gives me another reason to throw a little party, decorate rooms, prepare snacks for everyone, and to dress up a bit more excessively.
